Challenge:

Many clients wanted to be able to incorporate slideshows into their Wordpress sites. In particular, clients wanted to be able to add a slideshow of their Flickr photos, so that they only had to manage their photos in one place. Flickr has a nice slideshow feature, however, there wasn’t an easy way to incorporate this into a post or page in Wordpress. Users would have to copy in the object/embed code and manually add it. This was unacceptable for non technical users trying to create content.

Solution:

I developed a Wordpress plugin based off of Vipers Video Quicktags. A button will get added to the wysiwyg that will prompt a lightbox for the user to enter the User ID or Group ID along with the Set ID and dimensions that the slideshow should be. There is also a settings page within the Wordpress Administration side that allows default settings to be managed.

Credit to Jay David for naming the plugin.
