Joshua Tree National Park

November 2014

Having grown up in the Midwest, the high desert seemed like a place you'd only see in old westerns. And even though I now live in San Francisco, the desert still seemed like a far away place. Two of my closest friends live in Los Angeles, and in November 2014 we decided that Joshua Tree would be the ideal place to spend the week of Thanksgiving.

05 The Cholla Cactus Garden is where the high Mojave Desert meets the low Colorado Desert. I never thought I'd consider a cacti to be adorable, but these are. I wish I could grow these at home in San Francisco.
